Since when do you have to tweak config files for video and audio? There are settings in the UI for that.

Unfortunately the UI settings programs often do not do the job properly, and its back over to Xconsole and Vi to finish the job.

Users don't have to recompile... things simply work with the stock kernel.

Providing you have a new(-ish) computer that doesn't have anything remotely "different" hooked up to it.

BTW Does the Speedtouch 330USB modem "just work" now? (considering most of the ISP's in the UK are distributing this modem as part of their ADSL package, it's a must here)

I do agree with the kernel panics though, not seen one of those for a while now.
