what about the free advertising
I think the whole affair has been excellently managed. It was a precise calculation that "Windows" being generic would be a hard trademark for Microsoft to fight on behalf of in the courts (in the US).
As a result, the case has lasted for eons, and a vast amount of publicity has been generated.
I can only wonder what the new name will be.
