- Still spreading the MS FUD I see
-
--- Aren't the free/open source proponents proclaiming that all software should be free, and only support and services will be paid for? ---
Actually that is a piece of FUD created by MS & shills of MS so they can create FUD against it. Really pitiful when MS has to fabricate stories so they can create FUD.
OSS folks don't give a rat's a$$ what MS charges for their mediocre 'me too' products, or what anyone else charges for their stuff. The fact the OSS folks write their own software is absolute proof your clams are false, otherwise, why would they write their own software?
The real hypocrites are the MS folks. Where would MS services for unix be without the free software MS based it on? Where would MS be if they had to write their own TCP/IP stack instead of using the free BSD version? Where would MS active directory be without the free LDAP and kerberos software it's based on?
It seems that MS philosophy is everyone but MS should have to pay for software. MS thinks it should be able to take advantage of free software, which they do every day, to gouge others out of money.
The OSS folks simply say they should be able to write their own software and, if they desire, give it away. This is what MS, through it's proxy, SCO, is attempting to destroy. This is the basis for the entire MS FUD machine. Nobody should be able to write their own software unless MS can use it to make money.
What puzzles me about it is how willing the MS shills are to pay MS sinfully high prices for software MS gets for free. That is the difference between the MS shills and the OSS people. The OSS people are not hypocrites that want to gouge everyone. - Posted by: zd-spam Posted on: 04/07/04 You are currently: a Guest | Members login | Terms of Use
