Thats a rap: Linux on Xbox
Longhorn appears to be following IBM's old workspace on demand concept where OS/2 or some other Microsoft Windows product (OS/2 was a Microsoft product at the time, could be configured for serving up to desktop devices from an OS/2 server.

Xbox fits into this notion when you see Microsoft gamers desiring office productivity software or media software. These might be obtained as Google provides spreadsheet and wordprocessor software. In other words via a service.

However, software as a service requires a reliable network connection and for WI-FI connections it just will not do. Longhorn would in effect load Vista and Vista applications to the Xbox so the connection could fad in and out with out harm.

But the same can be done with Virtualization. Hence Xbox might run Linux and Open Office.
