OSX is built on Darwin, not Debian.

Also, releasing security patches does not make Apple like
Microsoft. People gripe about Microsoft's patches because they
are (a) extremely numerous and (b) sometimes released AFTER a
security hole has already been exploited.

While the first issue may be subjective, Apple has not released
what I would consider to be a numerous number of security
updates (especially when compared to Windows). And so far, the
second issue has not occured with OSX.
