Patent overhaul gets a boost

No More Software Patents Should Be Issued: I believe what the FTC is doing is a step in the right direction. But I believe also, no more software patents should be issued. They simply have an overall negative effect on innovation in the software industry. While large companies may (with increasing difficulty) be able to navigate the patent minefield in the future (at the rate things are now going), individual and small software companies will not be able to do so. I believe software patents stand to be greatest inhibitor of innovation in the software industry if they continue to be issued.; Posted by: P.
