ARRRRGGGGHHHH, I agree with Loverock
As a linux fanboi, I want to see Microsoft collapse. However, backdoors left wide open for "the good guys" *WILL* be used by the bad guys. And whilst my linux box won't be vulnerable to Windows' backdoors, my inbox will continue to be hammered by spam from compromised Windows bots. And anti-spam sites will continue to get DDOSed by those same bots.

IMHO, Microsoft has a duty to make Windows so damn secure that the anti-virus companies go out of business. What worries me about this case is that it sets an ugly precedent. What happens in the future when linux dominates? Will Symantec and McAfee demand backdoors into the linux kernel? Will they go to governments to enforce those backdoors?
