How? Pounds of paper don't mean much.

Would IBM have had any input whatever in the actual content of the spec? Manifestly not, since the charter was to dress up whatever Microsoft did -- no alterations allowed.

Example: the spec even contains [url=http://www.robweir.com/blog/2006/10/leap-back.html]bug-for-bug duplication of Microsoft's errors.[/url] We're not talking about opinion here, we're talking about Microsoft redefining the standard calendar.

Now if the Committee couldn't even fix blatant errors, what chance did IBM or any other party besides MS have to make a material contribution?
