Um, I think you are wrong...
"Contributions do not include additions to the Program which: (i) are separate modules of software distributed in conjunction with the Program under their own license agreement, and (ii) are not derivative works of the Program"

The last part states derivative works are a contribution and thus must be released. However, I think with CPL, if you use a funcion or sub-routine, you do not have to release it. It also states that if this does violate someone else's IP, you are screwed as well.
