Canonical seeks profit from free Ubuntu
Linux and profit in the same sentence? ROTFLMAO!! That was funny. If linux was going to make a profit they would have done so by now. Ubuntu is just this year's flavor of distro, and when something new comes out next year people will forget about Ubuntu. History has shown this time and again. First it was Slackware, then Mandrake, then Red Hat, then Debian, now its Ubuntu, next year .

The linux license is too restrictive for companies to use and this is why linux has never and will never take off the ground (metaphor for the penguin mascot). Companies simply don't want to give their hard work away. They want to make a profit, using linux will not allow that. Just ask Red Hat with the recent story of their profits declining.

Its a real tragedy to see Mark Shuttleworth getting the linux community's hopes up just to have it fall flat on its face. You know what they say... those who repeat history...
