Richard Stallman is looking out for our freedoms. He wants to make sure
those freedoms are not taken away by proprietary software vendors. Linus and Stallman are not that far apart. These public arguments are actually quite good for the process. Compare that to the process for the MS EULA where you know nothing and have no input.

But, any way you look at it, all of the competition from GPLed softare has been very very good for Microsft users. Microsoft is being forced to inovate and deliver like never before.
