RMS does need a real job! Too easy to be caught up in unrealistic and extreme notions when you don't make the rubber meet the road on a regular basis. GPL v3 does smack of real communism, if it disallows proprietary companies from being able to make money (e.g. proprietary drivers for Linux). If he wants Linux to ever take off, he'll have to see the need for allowing for-profit add-ons.
