No OpenOffice has not been...
betrayed. Sigh. What is it about the basic concept of free trade and competition that bothers you so? After all it's 100% American. Not only will competition with MS make everything better including MS products but it should reduce costs of MS software and services.

The same should happen with in Linux and Open Source. If WordPerfect brings competition with OpenOffice, and StarOffice then all these products should do their best to improve, and offer more for less.
