A couple of reasons probably...
1) it is the same reason as why a lot of people are reluctant to change from MS Office - it is something they are already familiar.
2) it is a good package as is OpenOffice so preference is personal choice.
3) some people can think for themselves and do not want to be drones following the pack.
4) Being the most "used" is not necessarily the best (see point 1) and if you can't see that reasoning then, you'd best stay being told whats best.
