Actually, a lot
Elements is very close to full PS, superb text handling, filters,
etc. The biggiest difference from full PS is that it does not
support the cmyk color model necessary for commercial print.
Iphoto isn't really close, nor is GIMP.

I's say that, unless you need cmyk color, there is little reason to
use the full version. Except for the color problem, I could use
Elements for 99% of what I do, and I work in pro graphics.
