We're the ones who pay the price

None of these companies would have gotten anywhere without Americans buying their services and making them multi-billion dollar enterprises. Now, instead of giving back to the people who took them to the top, they outsource to foreign countries (India in this case, but many more instances in terms of the production of products), giving people who don't care anything about America the work that Americans so desperately need.
If I had realized that HP/Compaq had sent their service over to India, I never would have bought another Compaq computer a couple of weeks ago when mine crashed. Between Earthlink (whose service I canceled because of them outsourcing), and HP, I've spent HOURS on the phone trying to get these people to understand what I want and need in terms of setting up the new computer and asking questions.
People from foreign countries can come here with no papers and get medical help. Americans who have no health insurance and don't qualify for free assistance can get nothing.
I've always told people who are prejudiced against other races that we all were other races at some point here in the U.S., and that our melting pot atmosphere just adds to us being a better country.
But now I wonder. The only way to stop this outsourcing is to boycott the companies who do it, but who's going to tell that to millions of Earthlink, Dell, AOL, etc. customers? Nobody, that's who.
But just think - if for two weeks everyone in this country boycotted these companies, they might think twice about leaving their call centers overseas. So, if you agree, copy and paste this letter into an e-mail and send it to all your friends and ask them to forward it to their friends and family. Who knows, we might just start a 21st century revolution here.
