Don't try to explain logic to rockhead...
Of course there are issues with GPL that need worked out. Free markets weren't thought up and implemented overnight. Conceptually, GPL is like public domain with restrictions on commercial use. Don't like it, don't use it. A huge amount of software is developed to be used internally by the company doing the development, both in this country and abroad. This is not, has never been and never will be considered commercial use by GPL. This is the target GPL is aimed squarely at. Most people are smart enough to recognize this. Rockhead isn't one of those.
