Yup
And the person driving the wedge is Richard Stallman. I dont think he has ever forgiven Linus Torvalds for "hijacking" open source and resents the fact that the whole world does not worship him as their software saviour. For many years he had all the limelight and asside from GNU there wasn't much to show for it. Then Torvalds did Linux and everyone started to pay real (business) attention.

Stallman would love nothing better than for Linus to appear in a bad light, so he can gather back all his worshippers and become the messiah again. Trouble is, people respect Linus as a REAL engineer who does just yap but makes things work, so it is Stallman who is seen as the unaceptable face of open source.

Stallman and FSF are now just a millstone on the necks of the OSS movement. They "consult" with all their own cronies to make GPL3. What a surprise when the real world sys "Huh?"
