Same old Client Server Architecture - ReBaked
It seems the frantic search for the panacea that addresses computing development problems has turned again to the failed Client Server model. The result of this arcane approach is a single server bottleneck answer that requires additional operational overhead thus wasted I/T budget spent on inter-operation between servers. SOA requires applications to send messages back and forth between requesters and servers thus creating additional points of failure and ignoring a key requirement for end user response time. We all agree that reducing development time and cost through reuse of function is the desired end result; but after you look at it closely, SOA is not the smartest way to achieve the goal. Inter-operational functional reuse pays a very high operational price. The correct approach is integrated functional reuse.
