...weren't so dumbed down. Its as if it were written for some Wall Street Exec (CIO) who knows more about bottom line that infostructure.
Why not go into a bit more explanation into what pieces really are in this 'stack'. For exmaple:
Tomcat is a webcontainer. Without going into a big spill onto what this is, you could do a better job in explaining its functions.
JBoss ia an EJB container. Again, without going to a huge elaboration into what that is, the article do a better job in explanation.
Hibernate is not just 'data-access' software. Its an object-to-database mapping tool that allows application developers to handle data access and persistance in a more object oriented design pattern. It has also been ported over to the .NET framework (Nibernate), and is a defacto-standard in the J2EE opensource community. Spring frameworks often use it, and does many other.
This article fails to mention that what Red Hat is really doing is providing a true open-source J2EE compatible server platform soup-to-nuts. Its going to help them compete with commerical offering like WebSphere, WebLogic, and others.
