Doing economic studies like this is what a lot of the "faceless beaurocrats" employed by governments do. These are people who ARE the system, and who hold no political or company allegiances. It's what they do, they look at how the economy works and how all sorts of scenarios might pan out. Those analyses are actually pretty darn good by and large. And they generally present them from not just one point of view.

Other than that, how do you get to the conclusion that the EU is only interested in negatives? If it was probable that 50,000 new jobs that would be filled by EU workers were going to be created then I would tend to believe that they would love that. Mind you, it'd have to not be a break even, gain 50k here lose 50k there scenario.
