Europe is not America. A ruling in one land does not preclude rulings in others, especially when the questionable behavior was not corrected by the original ruling. If I commit a crime in America, and am brought to justice over it, that does not give me free license to commit crimes again and again just because one jurisdiction handed down punishment. People like you and John Carroll are just too laughable. You claim to love the capitalist system and yet balk over the existence of antitrust (whose purpose is to maintain capitalistic competition). Would you like to be paying 3,400 dollars each month for your electric bill? Well, that would be the nightmare scenario if antitrust didn't exist. But because it does, you get regulated electric service. Granted, like anything else, antitrust isn't perfect, and has not always made the best decisions. But M$ IS a monopoly and they have routinely utterly abused their monopolistic position. Let's be honest: if IE wasn't bolted to Windows virtually no one would be using IE. It is a bland aged dinosaur lacking in so many popular, very useful innovative features. Every lucky chap I have introduced to Mozilla Firefox winds up seeing the light and loving it. Once you get used to tabbed browsing and mouse gestures, you'll wonder how you ever surfed without it, and will dread using IE and having to crudely click the back button just to navigate.
Moreover, it is to pathetic that US politicians would be jumping into the fold. I'm sure Europe wan't thrilled with our steel tariffs, but that in no way stopped us from jamming that up their behinds. EVERYONE (well, anyone with a brain) knows that the DOJ case was for show, and did nothing to restore the industry. Money has eaten the soul of America, and all we have left is geeky tyrants (who obviously never got bopped in high school) breaking every law in creation, demanding that everyone use their copied/stolen/bought second rate, bug-ridden, collage "technology"..
