Sun TAX
Everybody seems to have glossed over the little detail in there about Sun's licensing for it's Desktop - per employee! In essence, Sun has tied their revenue to your headcount, not your computing needs.

Say you're somebody like Burger King, you would have to pay for a license for every fry-cook and whopper-flopper you employ, which I'm sure is easily 50 times more than the actual number of computers you have in your corporate offices. Oracle does the same thing with some of their product licensing - this seems to be a scary trend, and a really odd way to try to grow your market. If I were them, I'd try to attract more business by using concurrent user or site licensing, which would be much more aligned to the real value you're providing.
