See the Major Labels are trying to control what can promoted and distributed on the net. It has nothing to do with getting the latest Britney Spears single for nothing as it can be had already for free off radio.

It has everything to do with that group of bands using P2P and MSN to pack concert halls in 500 KM radius every weekend. It has to do with the grassroots popularity that can turn into a wildfire of success leaving the Major Lables out in the cold as they beg the band to sign a crooked contract that offers them less than what they are currently making. So either a major lable pays more to sign a band or they lose out entirely.

That's a big problem. The middle men aren't needed. No this ticks off the independent record promoters who leach off the lables. The corporate radio stations that makes millions putting promoted songs on thier play list. Even other corporation that want to use the band or artist as advertising tool suffer.

You have a lot of BIG BUSINESS standing to lose a lot of money to the actual artists and e-comerce guys.
