Thats only partly true...
yes typically the price of a good reflects the total cost of production with all that entails, but yoru forgetting about equilibrium pricing. they don't sell XP at (cost + profit)/# of copies = total cost;
they price it at what people are willing to spend, and they spend millions determining that figure.

I heard that M$ loses money for every XBox they sell but teh games and the marketing deals make up for it along with volume.

if they added in the cost of the stuff they claim was pirated, then no one could afford XP in the first place. same with teh MPAA. could we afford a DVD if it came with the supposed 10000000000 price tag that the MPAA claims to have lost over the last 5 years?
