Four Things
(Okay, so you said not to bother replying. So sue me. ;))

1) Price.

There's a cost involved in transitioning from Windows to Linux, but once you get over that hump, the applications are free, the upgrades are free, and the application software is free. (And personally, I have my doubts that training costs would be significant. At the end user level, Linux can be made to mimic the look and feel of Windows, Firefox is essentially identical on all platforms (and going from IE to Firefox isn't exactly rocket science), and the basic functionality of Word and OpenOffice Writer are the same. (Notice, I said basic functionality. Higher-level things like complex documents and macros are obviously another matter.)

2) Security

Once you've installed Linux, you're impervious to all manner of viruses and spyware that plague Windows.

3) Configurability

Linux gives you much more control over what permissions users have. You can lock down your network much more easily. And you have much more granular control over installs.

What you give up is 100% compatibility with Windows software. I've gotten Wine to run a lot of things, but it's not perfect. (I've had maybe a 90% success rate.)

4) Source code

If there's something you don't like in your Linux distro, just get your developer to go in and change it. Now obviously, this only works if you have a developer to do the hacking, but unlike Windows, at least it's a possibility.
