yeah, you can't buy it, its free
(well, yes you can buy linspire if you really want, or give a donation to opensource projects)

been using openoffice for a year for my university lab reports, and dumped windoze mistake edition in june, when ubuntu dapper was released....

just tell me one thing that i could miss from m$ office???

anything fancy doesnt belong to word processor - it belongs to desktop publishing - and ive got scribus for that...

the thing i like, is i can open any documents i get from friends, without fearing about macros, vb scripts etc...and my email client doesnt decide that it will delete attachments simply because it THINKS it might be dangerous - it was my friend's picture...

and yes, a single boot per day - no reboots for me, thanks.

no virus scanner, spyware remover, scandisk after bad shutdown (doesnt happen, and even if you press The Button, ext3 recovers with a single line of complaint about recovering a journal...not even 2 seconds...
no nightly/weekly defrag either, ext3 resists fragmentation...at night, i can powerdown my computer, and be confident the next day it will boot up again...hassle free, it just works! and its not even mac!!
