I'm afraid you are right
I would have liked to see more UN involvement from the start. That might have painted a better picture for the iraqi poeple in the long run. I still hope the UN will take/be allowed to take a greater part in this mess. But in the Sadam had to go. I do not think the US will stand by and see a religious fanatic take over. The way things re these days there is no islamic fanatic with friendly feelings to the west. If that were to happen we would all be in greater danger then ever before. I just think there realy was no alternativ for the intervention. If Sadam had stayed in power more people would have been killed every day and he would have tried to get his hands on some realy dangerous weapons if he would have been given the chance. He was a threat to his own people, to his neighbours and in the long run to us.

Kadaffi got the picture, he understood perfectly that the mood has changed in the world and that not cleaning up his act would have meant getting his *ss kicked sooner then later. Iran is less a menace these days and is slowly getting it's act together. If we only could get Israel to play ball and get arafat out of the way so real palestinians with a real wish for peace could take over. Maybe then the world would be a less dangerous place to live in.
