No comments re. the DOJ settlemenmt?

That was actually not the point of my message, which is why I used the phrase "who knows". The point was meant to be that how MS got where they are is going to be debated forever, the fact that nearly all attacks reported today are taking advantage of flawed code from MS can not be argued and the overwhelming number of patches MS has written obviously shows that even MS knows there are holes. A vendor doesn't patch a working product.As long as they get away scott free for endangering the public with a product that is dangerous when the user operates it according to the vendors instruction, we can expect more and more flaws in each new product or version is released. And no security in the world can protect against flawed code in the OS. This is in fact not an issue that security has ever or can ever address. A good tech can sercure a system with the security that is here today. The attacks however are not even aimed at security related solutions. So why is everybody talking up our lack of security when that is not even close to the reason hacks are succeeding.
