Get real.
While on a TECHNICAL level, you might be correct, here in the real world you will be VERY hard pressed to find ANYONE who will support a mid-90`s linux distro ... or even one from 5 years ago.

Tout unending community support all you want, but fact is, MOST linux users are more obsessed with being on that bleeding edge than ANY old Microsofty. Hence people getting bent out of shape when the new version of Ubuntu was delayed a couple weeks from it`s SIX MONTH release cycle. Microsoft would wet their collective pants to be able to release a new OS that often. That would be a gold mine the likes of which only Apple can currently tap with regular, paid OSX updates.

Seriously, while on one hand I can appreciate your love of linux, as a full time desktop user of it myself, drop the militant edge man. Nobody takes you seriously ... and I only read your posts to see which foot you`ve managed to put in your mouth this time. Remember, if it weren`t for Microsoft, linux would have never grown into the wonderful OS it is today. It`s that common dislike of Microsoft`s monopoly that brought folks together, and encouraged some of the big guns like IBM to jump on board.

Lose the edge, think before you type. You`ll go further in life.
