And don't forget, you stuck with the programs that come with it!

People who use Windows use it because:

1) It's easy (Can't say that about Linux)
2) Practically unlimited number of compatible apps (Can't say that about Linux)
3) Tons and Tons of supported hardware and devices (Can't say that about Linux... see the pattern?)

Linux is great... for techies who know what they are doing. Until it is fool-proof such that any grandma can go to it and use it and install hardware/software, it will never be the main desktop operating system.
