Another HIGH-PROFILE failure to LAUNCH ... happy
In addition, Microsoft intends to give the test version next week to about 200,000 of the 1.5 million tech enthusiasts who participate in the Vista Customer Preview Program (CPP).

Just curious why these 200K only? Are CD media too expensive for MS?

The Redmond, Wash.-based company has been struggling to get the operating system update out the door. Last year, it cut features from Vista, in hopes that would allow the software to make it onto PCs by the 2006 holiday buying season. However, in March, Microsoft said it would have to delay Vista further, with plans for a mainstream launch in January.

In January of WHICH YEAR? It seems that Vista wont be out until Q3 of 2007.

BTW, WHAT features remained in Vista? It seems that NOTHING, besides the ICONS, is new in Vista. Maybe the contorted mess of the "new improved user authentication scheme" happy .....

WHY on Earth MS would advertise SO HEAVILY for FIVE YEARS a product that has been STRIPPED BY ALL of its NEW features?

Promissing and NOT delivering and keep delaying ONLY CORROBORATES the fact that MS "engineers" are NOT competent enough to provide a refresh for their PC os on time. And when it comes in, it has NOTHING NEW of substance to offer, besides the icons.... happy

Aren't they embarassed to so blatantly fail to deliver on their OWN promisses?

How is morale really?

I guess the middle-to-to management couldn't care less as most of them are multi-millionaires and the lower tier egineers too busy to be frustrated ?
