Sentenced by nonwealthy standards
If one looks at the patterns of sentencing of criminals in the US, there are at least two standards which are applied: one for rich criminals, and one for the rest. Jack Abramoff - you know, George Bush's and the Republican Party's employed criminal - got the rich man's sentence - short! This guy got the poor man's sentence - long in relation to the amount of the crime.

A word to the wise: start your own corporation, get large, and steal like hell - you'll get a short sentence, if any. Do it the poor man's way (and steal a little) - and our corrupt legal system will throw the book at you, lock you up as long as possible, and pompously claim to be "fighting crime."
