There Are Two Sides To The Coin
What about the software rip-offs perpetrated by the companies themselves? Seems the government has little interest in companies like Microsoft that sells products like Windows ME that never worked and the consumer?s only option was to reinstall Win 98 or upgrade to XP. When XP first came out the Home version was not as stable as the Pro version and often crashed. Microsoft is only one of many companies that sell products with major flaws.. How many times have you bought software that did not perform as advertised only to have the company offer you their new debugged version at a discounted price a few months later? This is the stock and trade for companies like Pinnacle Systems and many others. Anyone who travels overseas can buy software for $2 to $5 for any product out there. Seems the programmers utilized in the 3rd world countries don?t mind providing code to other companies that are willing to pay for it. However software companies overlook this black market and expect to make their profits in the US and a few of the European countries.
