Let me get this straight
"Poor" and "developing" nations are saying that the Internet has become a necessity, and therefore a human right. They therefore should have an equal say in how the Internet is run, regardless of the fact that the Internet was set up (and paid for) by the "rich" nations. They feel they have been mistreated by the richer nations. They feel that the "rich" nations should give them money so they too can participate in the Internet experience.

I'm sure the poor people in those poor nations sit around at night thinking, "If only I could get on the Internet, all my problems would be solved!" Government opression, religious persecution, racism, sexism; all would be washed away in the tide of enlightenment that would follow free and equal Internet access.

I had no idea the Internet had become so critical to human existence.
