I think you are thinking of Dave Chappelle, the comedian.

I sometimes think that Enterprises dont need an SOA 10-step program, they need a 12 step program.

1)We admitted we were powerless over inflexible IT systems?that our lives had become unmanageable.

"Hi my name is Brad and I'm a tighly coupled systems addict..."

2)Came to believe that a power greater than ourselves could restore us to sanity.

I know... IBM!

3) Made a decision to turn our will and our lives over to the care of God as we understood Him.

Don't worry, IBM Global Services will take care of us

4) Made a searching and fearless moral inventory of ourselves.

I dun wrong, I created redundant services in application silos boo hoo =(

5) Admitted to God, to ourselves, and to another human being the exact nature of our wrongs.

Marge, I done cheated on you with another IT Vendor...

6) We're entirely ready to have God remove all these defects of character.

Don't worry, IBM Global Services will take care of us

7) Humbly asked Him to remove our shortcomings.

Can you please rearchitect my services using model driven business process decomposition too while you're at it?

8) Made a list of all persons we had harmed, and became willing to make amends to them all.

I hope Bob in IT operations will forgive me for delivering a hopelessly unscalable and unmaintainable application...

9) Made direct amends to such people wherever possible, except when to do so would injure them or others.

Here you go Bob, here's a chargeback straight from my budget to yours.

10) Continued to take personal inventory and when we were wrong promptly admitted it.

I'll just put all my wrongs into the CMDB defect tracking system.

11) Sought through prayer and meditation to improve our conscious contact with God, as we understood Him, praying only for knowledge of His will for us and the power to carry that out.

Thank god for prayer and meditation, reading all those white papers seems like the hard way to go.

12) Having had a spiritual awakening as the result of these steps, we tried to carry this message to alcoholics, and to practice these principles in all our affairs.

Gee, now that I'm enlightened, I'm an "SOA Evangelist"! (tip of the hat to Dave Chappell)
