Just one thang: Microsoft does NOT make PCs, while Apple does their own computers.

Now take the old Sony Betamx versus VHS. Know why VHS won out?? Sony refused to license Betamax to anyone, While VHS was licensed. Sony Betamax lost out (think Apple super-proprietary Versus IBM PC's Open Architecture). This is not an argument on which hardware platform or tape format is better. Sony still has a niche Betamax market, but that is Broadcast and TV production studios. Same as Apple maintains a niche market with the Macintosh.

Now Microsoft gains a stranglehold via their predatory (convicted) business practices for the PC platform.

If Macroshaft buys AOL, then they will likely end up with Roadrunner as well. That means both will have OS sniffers and not allow anything but WINDOWS or Mac. I use Roadrunner. I use Linux. Where would that leave me, as well as all other RR/Linux users??? RR is Linux friendly, while AOL sure ain't.

I wonder if MSFT thinks they licensed Linux, when they bought a License for Unixware from SCO?????

Oh, OS X means OS 10. X is the Roman numeral for 10. Consider that the prior OS was OS 9......
