Open Solaris quite possibly great
Linux Redhat vs Solaris vs AIX. AIX has meet with failure because it has not been widely accepted and it is difficult to port. Solaris has been relatively easy port. Will Open Solaris win out. I would say yes. However, Sun must build and deliver hardware platforms that scream past the competitors as well as improve their compile technology. If they are able to blow rings around the competition with Open Solaris on their platform, people will migrate toward them, and adopt OpenSolaris on other hardware platforms. Sun is innovating in Software, which should put them in a good position later in a couple of years...
