IBM takes potshots at OpenSolaris

The future

I am hearing that IBM simply wants a hostile takeover of Sun to Shut down a competitor.But looking more closely at Suns portofolio its on the acendancy and would be a good med term investment for a cash rich investor.I question if IBM is really a a suitable proposition for Sun.IBM could equally argue that they should just buy the server business and sell the rest to Dell.However Sun Solaris and Opensolaris is a strong proposition and is well positioned for the upturn.Many argue that IBM should have formed a join venture with opensolaris some 3 years ago and dropped linux.IBM adopted linux as it was not able to bury the hatchet with sun and took the next best thing.It poises the question why IBM is still taking pot shots at Solaris? Maybe its individuals worried they will loose their jobs if solaris was adopted or a chance to take the price down?
