The technology itself has the potential to save $$ in the supply chain. Not only in auto tracking of shipments, but reduced lost shipments. Also, the aspect of manpower savings when it comes to ordering and inventory control.

This could be a good thing in lowering costs to the consumer. HOWEVER, I would want the RFID deactivated upon purchase of said item. This would help prevent the potential for abuse.
