What is the issue here?
Like your question/answer; makes a lot of sense. To take this a little bit further, I wonder what would happen if MS simply said they would continue as they are and it was up to the consumer to either use their products as is with no implied or extraordinary wanrranties or guaranties.
I get the feeling that many people out there expect someone to "look out for their welfare". Every time that happens, those people give up a little more of their freedom.
If no standard protocols are being violated, what's the problem?
