You don't address the argument at all. The fact that
alternatives exist does not absolve a company of all
responsibility.

The issue raised was whether Microsoft should be held
liable for the cost that its products have caused its
customers because of poor workmanship

Your response is that it doesn't matter how shoddy their
workmanship is, provided there are alternatives, they can
sell anything they like.

You clearly have never heard of "negligence" or "duty of
care".

The point is worth considering, especailly since all software
manufacturers have EULAs that remove all responsibility for
the performance (or lack there of) of their products. No
other industry is able to get away with an "all care but no
responsibility accepted" attitude, why do we accept it with
software?
