do you know what anti-aliasing is ? Anti-aliasing doesnt make a font look great if its basic shape itself sucks. It just makes the rough edges smooth.

I heard the same thing many years back. Even now there is no single desktop application for linux, that is easy to install and works well and looks good with a default installation. Hmmm.. I am wrong; there are some text editors.

How do you define "work"
What is wong playing games with computers ? If I can play DVD on computer and if I am satisfied with it, why should I buy a separate DVD player paying 100$ ?

The whole discussion here is about desktop linux. Its not a big deal rebooting a desktop computer once in a while to install some applications, if that is going to take few minutes and give you a great working app.
