Personally, my experience has been very different
(1)I'll grant you, the fonts in OO aren't very good but that is a minor problem. The functionality is good and the product is VERY useable.

(2) Again, personally I have found mplayer far superior to the alternative.

(3) Many of the editing tools I have used and purchased for Windows are difficult to use. Video editing is not really all that easy in my opinion. Windows XP has made creating a movie pretty easy, but not editing. If you want industrial strength video editing, try this.

(4) What is a decent browser then? Bug ridden IE? Please. Mozilla is what we are using in the office these days. Good enough.

Don't need a text editor? Fine, don't download or install one of the thousands you speak of. At least you have a choice here.

As far as Xandros running Office XP, I would agree with you. Completely worthless.
