Momopoly
Sure there are momopolies. There are government granted ones (like AT&T was) and market selected ones (like Microsoft). Now your examples are interesting. Do you have to have a car? No you don't. You could always use public transportation, you could use a bycycle or walk. Now would that be pratical in a lot of cases, no but you still have a choice.

Do people have to have a computer? No they don't. We got along quite well for many generations without them. Now are they a great tool for work and play. Of course they are. Would we have some of the things we do today without them? Maybe not or at least not as advanced as they are. But it is not a matter of life or death for the average person to have one.

A bit of history, no market selected momopoly has ever lasted forever. There has always been something come up that cost it its momopoly. In software, it might be Linux or some OS that no one knows about yet.

And the facts is that no one is forced to buy Windows. They only way they can be forced is if someone threatens them with death or serious bodily harm if they don't buy something. Otherwise it is a choice. It might be the most easy way to get what they want or the quickest or the cheapest but it is still a choice.
