Like I said...

I argued in my open letter article that Microsoft will NOT accept a ruling that tells them they aren't allowed to design their software however they want. They still won't, and I strongly suspect that the appeals court will agree. It's very strange for a bunch of bureaucrats ANYWHERE to dictate how software is designed. Given that this has ONLY been vetted by bureaucrats, I doubt this ruling will hold up.

By the way, have a nice retirement, Mario (yes, I AM suggesting that Mario's desire to leave a legacy DID have a role in this outcome of this case, given that he was the one who caused the settlement deal to fail, and given that I've worked in Europe for the past 4 years and now how the European mandarins tend to think. To those Europeans who find that insulting, ask yourself what YOUR experience of the upper echelons of European management tends to be).
