VMware readies virtualization software for Macs

Microsoft should buy VMware: end the jhad

On Tuesday Microsoft will be 20 billion lighter. I can not help thinking that Microsoft might want to support Vista with VMware instead of purchasing more of its own stock. I installed the package last week on top of Windows 2000. The hooks for Vista "experimental" were evident in the VMware Product. I then loaded Linux on top of the VMware. So far works great.

Ideally it would be Linux on bottom, VMware and then Windows 2000. At that point you have rock solid security and a path to Vista. You have preserved the value in your old Microsoft Office software and you have operating system products that can take advantage of the new multi processor multicore business computers because Linux already does so complements of the open source contributions from Intel.

In addition, should your business purchase process software that is based partially on OpenOffice, and there will be a sluggo of those, along the lines of the VA's VistA document imaging system, you are set.

Or if the business process software works best on Windows 98 you can load Windows 98 in a VM. Because it is in a virtual machine there is little security risk even if Microsoft never patches it again. The end is near. End of the jihad of Microsoft against even its own older product. Rise of the American programmer.
