RHEL fees
Red Hat charges for support on RHEL.

The software itself (_all_ of it) is GPL and can be distributed as the user sees fit with one exception: the Red Hat trademarks and logos must be removed. Red Hat's LICENSE file on the distribution makes this very explicit, and not only tells you exactly where to find the files that they want removed but how to replace them so that scripts, etc. don't break.

Last I heard, Richard Stallman himself has no problem with defense of trademark (at least legitimate ones -- he probably has a problem with a pen company suing a carmaker over "pilot" just as I do.)

If you want a 100% legitimate copy of Red Hat Enterprise (both /gratis/ and /libre/) you can download "White Box Linux."
