ZDNet must be hard up for Apple-bashing news...
to give such a non-story such prominent airing.

As others have said... Adobe doesn't update Framemaker for over 2 years (for the few who actually use it), only runs in OS9 and will not release an OSX version and then wonders why it doesn't have a market, leading to it's expected cancellation.

Adobe apparently didn't learn from it's Premiere brain cramp. It allowed (Mac) Premiere to languish for a year (or more) with some consistent bugs and no major changes (particularly support for DV). Apple finally filled the void with Final Cut Pro and Adobe wondered why it's Mac users mysteriously disappeared... leading to Premiere's eventual extinction.

>>> It has also shunned Mac users in its Photoshop Album digital photo package and Encore DVD-authoring application, where Apple produces competing applications. >>>

Business sense... why enter a market with me-to products already amply covered by Apple... that's Microsoft's MO (which also killed Explorer... who needs it with Safari, Netscape, Mozilla, Opera, etc).

>>> Adobe raised the hackles of Mac fans last year, when it republished test results that indicate that computers with Microsoft's Windows operating system may run some of its applications faster than Macs do. >>>

A gutless Adobe did run full page After Effects ads (barely marked at the top of the page as "Advertisement") easily mistaken for a news article. It boasted how an ex-Mac user was praising and wallowing in the glow of using AE on a Windows box.

Strangely enough, other than "Adobe" appearing in the text attached to the "After Effects" name, nowhere was it evident as to who sponsored the ad. Dell and Intel appeared in the fine print at the bottom of the page (trademark/copyright notices) but you had to go to the Advertisers Index to find out who actually sponsored the ad... surprise... Adobe! It was seen by many as a cheap shot at Apple for introducing the Premiere-killing FCP.

Strange how the schizophrenic Adobe takes pot shots at Apple and promotes Windows when one of it's main stays... PDF technology... is said to be in MS's cross hairs. While Adobe is busy yelling over the back fence at Jobs that his mother dresses him funny, Gates is preparing to walk away with the contents of it's house.
