CFSD ZDNet doctrine
Do you not see the wealth of information Zdnet will spew when prodded. Lets speculate that they have advertisers, some of those prefer to time the discussion of certain topics, and that authors materials are held until that time.

It is not unlike the none disclosure agreements all of us have signed to get the information we need to fix problems. As soon as the information is released from other sources we can and do spew and sometimes spew chunks. I rairly cross post but this is an important article owing to hope that the wrong ways are giving way to ligitimate consumer protection ways. The last line involving IE in particular.

The current issue with IE is portrayed as a security issue involving controls but my research has found concern only for Active-X controls and none for Applets.

It is more likely that the IE changes regarding the running of an Applet inside a script with the current browser represent legal strategy to avoid a 580 million judgement against Microsoft for illegal taking of code from the University of California at Berkeley involving the way a control is handled in a browser.

So now you get an unprofessional "click to activate and use this control" message on every web page with the Applet Tag coded as intended for security. The fix is to embed the Applet Tag in an unsecured script that also is a choke point for the control. In other words the applet runs significantly slower by bench mark tests."

Lets hope the new updated browser is like the recall and Microsoft management has paid what is owed to the University of California.
